Position Summary: Information Technology Services (ITS) is NYU's central organization for technology-based services for University faculty, students, staff, and administrators. ITS provides computer, network, telephony and Internet services to the entire University. ITS comprises the Office of the Chief Information Technology Officer and several service departments working together in support of the broad spectrum of University activities.
ITS at New York University is seeking a Project Director to develop and implement complex administrative systems projects in collaboration with other staff and University clients and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive, integrated business solutions. The Project Director will be responsible for directing the technical implementation of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules and for directing the activities of a team of developers and consultants. The position effectively deploys resources for the development of project plans and business requirements; takes the lead in managing scope, time, cost, risk and client expectations; manages technical staff and maintains knowledge of technology changes and industry trends.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Master's degree
PMP Certified Project Manager or equivalent
Required Experience: 7 years' progressively responsible professional level experience with the design, development and implementation of complex systems or an equivalent combination. Must include experience with large scale administrative systems such as financial, human resources, student, fund raising, business intelligence tools, compliance, etc. as well as staff supervision.
Preferred Experience: Experience with PeopleTools, SQR, SQL, XML Publisher, Integration Broker, Application Engine, Application Designer, Component Interface and other PS technologies. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Implementation Methodologies, PeopleSoft Systems Support Technology. Excellent problem solving skills. Hands on experience with implementation and support of PeopleSoft CS 9.0 at large or medium sized University. Management experience in a higher education environment. Experience in staff supervision in a multi-project environment; strong functional and technical experience in Student Admin, Campus Community, Student Records and other PS CS 9.0 modules
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Oracle, PeopleSoft, UNIX, SQL, LAN/WAN environments. Ability to provide technical advice to a non-technical audience. Excellent verbal, written and communications skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
